Six weeks before

• Confirm your closing or lease date and the time you get the keys.
• Ask for written moving quotes with both addresses, stairs, and any heavy items such as a hot tub or pool table.
• If you are moving into a new build, ask the builder whether the street, driveway and walkway will be finished by your move date.

Four weeks before

• Book your movers and plan the start time around when you get the keys.
• Start packing rooms you use least.

Two weeks before

• Set up utilities and internet at the new home and book the shut-off at the old one.
• Forward mail and update your address.
• Measure large furniture and the doors and stairs at the new home.

One week before

• Pack everything except daily items and label boxes by room.
• Empty and defrost the fridge and freezer.

Moving day

• Keep keys, documents, medicine and chargers with you.
• Walk the crew lead through the home before loading starts.
• In a brand-new home, our crew protects floors and door frames before the first item comes in.

The first night

Pack one bin with bedding, towels, toiletries, snacks and basic tools, and ask the crew to set up the beds first.
