Rent plastic moving bins and totes
Plastic bins are strong, stack evenly on the truck and close with a lid, so they keep out dust and rain and do not crush. You do not need tape or have boxes left over after the move, because the bins are rented and returned. They are a good fit for kitchens, books, tools and anything heavy.
Buy cardboard moving boxes
Cardboard boxes are yours to keep. They work well for clothes, linens and items going into storage, and you can fold them flat when you are done. Keep heavy items in smaller boxes so they stay easy to carry.
How many do I need?
It depends on how many rooms you have and how full they are. Tell us the size of your home and what you are packing, and we will suggest a number of bins and boxes so you do not run short on moving day.
Packing tips
- Label every bin or box with the room it goes to.
- Put heavy items in smaller containers and light items in bigger ones.
- Fill gaps with towels or paper so nothing shifts.
- Keep a separate bin for the first night: chargers, medicine, toiletries and a change of clothes.
